You can transfer your free Google Voice number to a paid Google Voice number through Google Workspace. To do so, follow the steps below.
- The process will cost around $25.
- You will need to pay for an iPlum plan for one month.
- Google charges a small fee to port the number to your account.
- It will take 9-10 days to complete the transfer, depending on when you port the number.

We recommend using iPlum . The company signs a BAA, and their monthly plans are reasonable priced. .3Contact the new provider: Contact the new service provider and inquire about the process for porting your Google Voice number to their service. They will guide you through the necessary steps and provide any required documentation. If you are using iPlum, please review this support document.
.4Initiate the porting process: Follow the instructions provided by the new service provider to initiate the porting process. This typically involves providing them with the necessary information about your Google Voice number and account. (See #1 above)
.5You will need to use your number through iPlum for a short period of time. You will most likely need to subscribe to a one-month plan. We also recommend that you sign iPlum BAA .
.1Set up a Google Workspace account: If you don't have a Google Workspace account already, sign up for one. Google Workspace is a paid service that provides additional features and capabilities for Google Voice. During this time, your number will be transferred from Google Voice to the new provider.
.4Complete the porting process: Follow the instructions provided by Google Workspace support to complete the porting process and bring your number back to a paid Google Voice plan.
.5Once you port the number to a paid Google Voice plan, cancel your iPlum subscription.
.6Do not forget to sign the Google Workspace BAA to ensure your Google Voice plan is HIPAA compliant
